Reaction injection molding involves the injection of liquid polyurethane systems into a mold. The components then polymerize within the mold to form a part.
Polyol and isocyanate is injected or poured into a mold or cavity of a structural part where a chemical reaction takes place. After the reaction occurs, the finished part is removed from the mold.
To create a master mold, thick tooling pastes are dispensed onto rough forms. The tooling paste creates a solid machinable surface that is shaped and detailed by CNC robots.
