ProBell Rotary Atomizer Increases Transfer Efficiency by 40%
CUSTOMER: Windows and Doors Manufacturer
GRACO EQUIPMENT: ProBell Rotary Atomizer
One of the nation’s largest suppliers of high quality windows for remodeling, replacement, and new construction projects recently was struggling with some of their finishing applicators. They pride themselves on a relentless attention to detail and state of the art manufacturing facilities in the heart of the USA, so any slip up on their manufacturing line, meant a possible blow to their pristine reputation. To paint various window trims, they were using Ransburg Aerobell Rotary Atomizers. This older model led to a number of different issues like breakdowns, lack of part availability for repairs, and diminishing transfer efficiency. System configuration with the equipment was also very complicated and didn’t allow for customized presets. If the regular operator were off for any reason it would take his replacement a lot of extra time just to get settings dialed in. All of these factors led to increased downtime, wasted material, and overall inefficiency on the paint line.
Using a Graco Informer fluid monitoring system, they benchmarked their material usage. After having a better idea of their current situation, they installed two Graco ProBell Rotary Atomizers to create a side-by-side comparison with the current Ransburg equipment. Company representatives were able to customize preset settings on the Graco equipment based on color and size to optimize their spray patterns.
The side-by-side comparison reported a 40% increase in transfer efficiency while using the Graco ProBell Rotary Atomizers. Their operators also found that the system controls were easy to use and were impressed with the ability to control presets from the user interface. This allowed them to decrease downtime and improve efficiency on their line. Due to the superior performance, the company decided to replace all four Ransburg Aerobells with four new Graco ProBell Rotary Atomizers.
