Spray Pattern Troubleshooting

How to Fix a Rough Finish or Specking

A rough looking finish or specking generally occurs when the material is not wet enough to allow even flow out after it has been applied. Video shows what this problem looks like and how to eliminate it while using an air assist spray gun.

  • A rough looking finish or specking is generally caused when the material is not wet enough to allow even flow out after it’s been applied.
  • Too much atomization air or poor operator technique can cause this problem.

- Too much distance between gun and part

Best
Solution
