Spray Up Lamination Fiberglass Spray Gun and Chop System for Open Molding
Handle fiberglass and catalyzed resin with ease with Graco spray up laminating components and systems.
The spray up lamination process:
Gel coat alone does not have the structural strength to be removed from the mold or to be used as a final product. A reinforcing material (such as fiberglass, saturated with catalyzed polyester resin) is applied to directly onto the cured gelcoat on the mold, which forms a structurally strong product.
There are two types of open mold laminating: hand lay-up & spray-up laminating. The quickest option of laminating is spray-up lamination.
Graco offers complete solutions for all your spray up lamination needs:
Graco’s FRP chop system for spray-up lamination utilizes a fiberglass cutter mounted on its RS Gun. This set-up pulls fiberglass strands called roving from a spool and automatically cuts it with a gun-mounted chopper and then throws the cut pieces of fiberglass into the catalyzed resin stream. The fiberglass and resin mixture are sprayed directly onto the gelcoat surface in the mold.
